Privacy and access

Your workspace is private to the browser session and recovery key that open it. Research is not publicly listed or shared with other workspaces.

Your recovery key

Anyone who has it can access your research. Keep it private and save a copy. The website stores a hash of the key, not the key itself. We cannot recover a lost key. Browser access lasts up to 30 days; signing out ends it immediately. Opening with your key in another browser ends the previous session and disconnects Jev.

Stored research

Sources, uploaded files, claims, evidence, and review decisions are stored on the hosting service. This is not end-to-end encrypted storage: the website operator and hosting providers can process stored information to operate the service. Avoid including information you are not authorized to store. Export your research regularly.

Optional Jev reviews

Connecting Jev sends your TypeSafe key to the server to validate it. The hosted service temporarily stores an encrypted copy that requires your browser’s separate connection cookie to unlock. Connections expire after eight hours or when disconnected. The service sends the material shown in the review preview only when you explicitly request a check. TypeSafe processes it under its own privacy policy. Usage is charged to the TypeSafe account associated with your key. Suggestions do not approve your research.

Cookies and service limits

Essential cookies keep your workspace and optional Jev connection open. There is no advertising or analytics code in this website. Hosting infrastructure may retain operational logs. Workspaces have bounded storage and request limits; new workspace creation can pause when the service is at capacity.

Retention

Signing out or disconnecting Jev does not delete your research. Saved research remains on the service. There is currently no self-service research deletion or recovery-key replacement control. Research exports exclude access keys and Jev credentials.
